Get to Know the Employees: Tori McClanahan

Name:  Tori McClanahan

Job Description: Office Manager. But I do a little of everything, from paying the bills to paying employees to marketing, website updates and figuring out what to post on Facebook (lol).  I wear a lot of hats.

Who Inspires you?

My husband Jim McClanahan, inspired me every day. He never allowed life’s adversities to stand in his way. From cancer at 16, to an amputation at 17, to the pulmonary fibrosis at the end of his life.  God gifted him with an incredible talent as a prosthetist and he used that gift every day. Just getting up each day presented challenges that most of us will never know and, he never complained.  He loved God and his family and never failed to share either of those things with us.

What was the best concert you ever attended?

There have been a few from Fleetwood Mac to Bruce Springsteen (I saw him 3 times in 6 months on the Born in the USA tour).  But most recently, Paul McCartney was really good.

If you could visit anywhere in the world where would you go?

I would like to go to Israel.  That’s a bucket list trip.

What was the last book you read?

Pieces of Her by Karin Slaughter

What are you passionate about?

I am passionate about health, alternative medicine, bio-identical hormones and holistic mind/body healing. Alternative medicine is really not alternative at all. It’s been around for centuries.  In fact, that’s what doctors practiced before the pharmaceutical industry took over medicine. I believe in finding and treating root cause of disease instead of managing symptoms with a Rx.  Certainly there are times when conventional medicine is called for, but I think that should be the last resort and not the first one.

What’s the coolest thing you are working on right now?

I don’t know how cool it is, but I just purchased my first Passion Planner and I’m excited about putting into writing long term and short term goals for my life. I’m new to this type of planner so its been fun learning creative ways to use the planner.

Who would you most like to trade places with for a day?

Suzanne Somers.  I have long admired her dedication and efforts to bring us cutting edge information on health and hormones. I would love to have access to her resources and doctors for a day.
